The government has proposed holding a Central Universities Common Entrance Test, which might be a game-changer for higher education in India (CUET). From the academic year 2022-to 2023, 54 CUET universities and colleges will be participating. This may come as a surprise to many, but the initiative to reduce the pressure of higher cut-offs in most prestigious central institutions has been in the works for quite some time. The National Education Policy (NEP), which intends to make dramatic reforms to the country's educational system, prepared the ground for the Common Entrance Test.
There are now 54 Central Universities in India, including the University of Delhi (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and others. For the 13 newly founded Central Universities spanning many states, there is a single admission exam. While the present CUET is held once a year in an offline format, the upcoming proposed Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET 2022) would be held online.
by the National Testing Agency (NTA).To begin, the exam will be administered just once during the academic year 2022-2023, but in later years, the test will be administered twice a year, allowing students the chance to improve their results if necessary.
This page will go through CUET Colleges as well as participating colleges that will accept CUET results.
While several Central Universities have been formed in the recent two decades, the bulk, including the famed University of Delhi, is already established. The University of Allahabad, founded in 1887, became a Central University in 2005.
