A systematic study of the laws of nature functioning on length ranges ranging from the sub-atomic to the whole cosmos is carried out by the experimental and theoretical science of physics. Within the disciplinary/subject area of physics, the core areas of study include classical and quantum mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermal and statistical physics, wave theory and optics, materials physics, digital electronics, and specialised methods of mathematical physics and their applications in various branches and subfields of the field. As part of their theoretical course work, students study physics laboratory procedures for many fields of physics, specific measurement techniques, analysis of observational data, including error estimates, and the creation of scientific reports. Computer-aided physics is the most recent addition to the Physics curriculum, and it entails altering Physics issues to allow for algorithmic solutions, as well as modelling and simulating physical events.
