This course is intended to assist students in defining and critically evaluating the category of Literature, as well as understanding the development of literary studies, textuality, and the canon of literature. Through an intensive engagement with the prescribed texts, this course aims to challenge and demystify pre-conceived ideas about literature as mimetic representations, to emphasise literature as an important component of cultural production that is deeply rooted in historical specificity, to develop language skills in an integrated way through an intense engagement with the prescribed texts, and to provide learners with hands-on practise in the application of these skills.

Only the 'combination of topics in which a candidate has appeared in CUET 2022', as specified in the relevant Program-Specific Eligibility, will be considered in determining a candidate's merit.
